Alternate Juror, George, Diddy Federal Trial

Interviewed by Laura Coates

CNN Anchor and Chief Legal Analyst

This alternate juror, George, from the Diddy trial works with the UN Counter-Terrorism office, which Partners with US agencies. George twice claimed that the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism doesn’t work with law enforcement in voir dire to get on the jury.

George, of the UN Office of Counter Terrorism was the point of contact for the UN’s “High Level International Conference on Human Rights.”

If he lied, it’s perjury. If he spoke out post-trial, it could be contempt.

George understood the verdict and said, “I took a copious amount of notes. Overall, I took 350 pages of notes. There were others who took more notes than I did.”

George told CNN, “After Judge Subramanian gave his statement. He said, The first twelve of you are the jurors, the last five are the alternates.”

The jurors and alternate jurors were informed of their status at the beginning of the trial.

He said, “When they were in the jury room during the trial they were all equal.”

“The judge had instructed us that, we have to find, you know, we have to find him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. And I think there was always a little bit of doubt in people. It was a tough case to prove. Especially the first one. I think, even from the beginning.”

They could see the witnesses’ stories from both the prosecution and the defense sides.

George said, Dawn Richard’s testimony made  “unanimously we kind of all said, wow.”

Every single day Judge Subramanian gave the same instructions to the Jury. Don’t speak with each other about the case. Don’t speak with anybody else, and don’t look up anything about the case.

Dawn was the witness they didn’t believe. It was almost like watching a show. They were the audience. George never saw such a cross-examination before, “it was very impressive. It was like a take down.”

The Prosecution had a hard case to prove.

George told CNN, “We were just waiting until the end so the judge could give his instructions.”

George said everyone didn’t have their mind made up or anything. They were waiting for Judge Subramanian to give his instructions on how to interpret the law. “We all had an open mind.”

Sex Trafficking Cassie Ventura

Cassie’s testimony was riveting and credible. After being asked about believing Cassie. He said “I think we did.”

He said Diddy was fighting for himself. He was writing notes, giving them to his lawyers. Diddy was in control.

George said, “The videos were riveting and eye opening. The videos didn’t seem forced. There was sexual activity. Actually it was pretty tame, a lot of rubbing oil and stuff on there.”

As for the sex trafficking of Cassie Ventura, George said, “it was a difficult thing to prove and he thinks there was always some doubt. Judge Subramanian said, it has to be forced and the defense did show messages where it doesn’t seem that it was.”

George, “if you look at the Jury’s backgrounds you’ll see that they didn’t know or follow Diddy. That’s probably why they were chosen.

Juror number 6 who was excused from the trial. George and the other jurors were told that he was excused. Someone said that the juror lied about where he was from.

It did not make a difference that Diddy didn’t testify. They heard enough.

News Nation Interview

Did you all have the same sense I know you weren’t allowed to talk about The fact of the case. You were with these people for seven weeks.

Did you get the sense that everyone felt the same way all the way along?  Or was it poker face? You couldn’t tell? George answered, “In a sense, we were all hoping, just waiting for it to end.”

An example of what Ms. Banefield saw as coercion- The one time that the sex worker heard what sounded like Combs was beating Cassie in another room. Then he came out with her and said, “Finish Strong.” George said, “No, it wasn’t forced.”

He ended the interview saying he hoped Sean “Diddy” Combs gets the max. Then he changed it and said it’s up to the judge.

The SDNY is investigating George.
