Federal prosecutors closed their case this week with testimony from Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Joseph Cerciello, who served as the government’s summary witness. Cerciello’s appearance tied together weeks of evidence and testimony about alleged sexual encounters orchestrated by Sean “Diddy” Combs and his employees.

Cerciello told jurors he reviewed “multiple hours” of explicit videos seized during the investigation. Prosecutors allege the videos show more than 40 “freak-offs” also called “hotel nights” or “wild king nights” between 2021 and 2024, with one encounter allegedly taking place just weeks before Combs’ arrest in September 2024.

Federal investigators said the videos depict sexual encounters arranged by Combs, featuring paid male escorts and coordinated through his assistants. Prosecutors argue these events were part of a deliberate and ongoing scheme facilitated by Combs’ power and resources.

During his testimony, Cerciello walked jurors through text messages, travel records, hotel receipts, and bank documents. He described how these records, combined with video evidence, painted a picture of repeated, organized sexual events arranged at Combs’ direction.

Cerciello detailed how messages recovered from Combs’ phones and devices show him coordinating with assistants to book flights for escorts, reserve luxury hotel rooms, and purchase supplies. Messages shown in court included instructions to assistants to “bring more supplies,” which prosecutors allege referred to items like condoms, lubricants, and baby oil.

Hotel receipts and travel records presented during Cerciello’s testimony documented nights at high-end hotels in cities including New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, often matching dates and times of videos showing sexual encounters.

Cerciello explained that financial records showed thousands of dollars spent on hotel stays, travel, and cash payments to alleged victims. Prosecutors say these expenses were consistent with what multiple former Combs assistants described earlier in the trial.

Text messages displayed to jurors showed Combs allegedly directing payments for escorts and arranging transportation for them, including flights and luxury car services. In one exchange, Combs was seen approving $5,000 in cash for a “wild king night,” instructing staff to deliver the money discreetly.

Prosecutors used Cerciello’s testimony to argue that Combs’ assistants played a critical role in carrying out these events. They allege staff members were expected to handle logistics, prepare hotel rooms, stock supplies, and ensure privacy.

Cerciello testified that many of the videos he reviewed were recorded by Combs himself. In some, Cerciello said Combs’ voice can be heard giving directions or responding during the sexual acts. Prosecutors argued this demonstrated Combs’ active involvement and control.

Travel records presented by Cerciello included airline tickets, hotel bookings, and car rental agreements for individuals prosecutors identified as escorts. Maps shown in court traced flights and movements of these individuals across states, which prosecutors allege may violate the federal Mann Act.

Cerciello said his team used specialized digital forensics software to analyze seized phones, comparing communications between Combs, his assistants, and the alleged escorts. He described building a timeline of events using digital evidence, hotel records, and witness statements to show a pattern of coordination.

One key chart presented by Cerciello overlaid Combs’ public appearances, album releases, and dates of alleged “freak-offs.” Prosecutors argued this timeline showed Combs planned the events around his professional schedule, with periods of high activity coinciding with major career milestones.

Prosecutors contend this coordination demonstrates a pattern of exploitation. Cerciello’s testimony referenced statements from former assistants who described preparing suites, purchasing supplies, and arranging cash payments for these encounters.

Defense attorneys pushed back by highlighting messages from alleged participants showing apparent eagerness to meet Combs, arguing these were consensual encounters between adults. They insisted the government’s evidence fails to show force or coercion.

Combs has denied any wrongdoing, maintaining that the sexual encounters were consensual. His legal team has argued that prosecutors are misinterpreting consensual relationships as criminal conduct.

Cerciello’s testimony capped weeks of statements from former Combs employees who described intense work conditions, purchasing drugs for Combs, and organizing events known as “wild king nights.”

As the government’s summary witness, Cerciello was tasked with connecting all the evidence and providing jurors with a clear narrative of what prosecutors allege was a years-long pattern of criminal behavior.

The defense is expected to begin its case in the coming days, with Combs’ attorneys planning to challenge the credibility of prosecution witnesses and the interpretation of the evidence.
