Brandon Paul, who worked as Sean “Diddy” Combs’ personal assistant for 18 months, gave dramatic testimony this week revealing a world of drugs, sleepless nights, and secretive “wild king night” parties during his time with the music mogul.

Paul was Combs’ assistant from November 2022 to March 25, 2024. He described a grueling schedule of 80 to 100-hour work weeks, recalling one period during an album release in New York when he stayed awake for three days straight with only short naps in between.

He admitted using two to four of Combs’ prescription Adderall pills at a time, along with occasional cocaine, to remain alert. Before working for Combs, Paul said he only smoked marijuana.

Paul told jurors he was warned by a former assistant, Eli Moron, that the job would be all-consuming: “Get in, get out. If you have a girlfriend, break up with her. You’re never gonna see your family.”

His responsibilities included arriving early to venues to prepare everything before Combs’ arrival, often coordinating with stylists and photographers. Paul said Combs demanded perfection and wanted his assistants to “move like SEAL Team Six,” meaning they had to anticipate every need and act with military precision.

Travel for Combs’ team was handled by Jessica Ruiz, who booked commercial flights for the entire entourage. Paul said they traveled constantly for club appearances and other events.

Combs reportedly required $150,000 per club appearance, plus the sale of a case of his DeLeón tequila, according to Paul’s testimony.

In March 2024, Paul was arrested at Opa-Locka Airport in Miami for cocaine possession after security found drugs in his Goyard bag.

Paul told the court he found the cocaine while cleaning Combs’ room, put it in his bag to move it later, and forgot about it during packing. He said he didn’t tell police the drugs belonged to Combs because of “loyalty.”

Drug charges against Paul were dropped after he completed a pre-trial intervention program.

Under subpoena and an order compelling truthful testimony, Paul told jurors he was directed by Combs and other assistants to buy drugs, including marijuana, ketamine, ecstasy, and tusi, a pink-dyed powdery mix of ketamine and molly.

Paul said part of his job was to buy a pound of marijuana every two months, ensuring Combs had his preferred strains.

On at least one occasion, he used his personal credit card to purchase items for a “wild king night,” submitting a $5,190 receipt for reimbursement.

He described receiving detailed instructions from Combs’ team to prepare and clean up hotel suites for these events, which included stocking items like lubricant and baby oil.

The jury was shown photos of stacks of lubricants, baby oil, and other items arranged in Combs’ residences. Paul said these nights occurred both at Combs’ homes and at the home of “Jane,” a former girlfriend who has testified under a pseudonym.

Paul testified he once handed Combs $5,000 in cash for a “wild king night,” which he got from security, and knew of at least one instance where cash was dropped off at a hotel front desk for a similar event.

On cross-examination, defense attorney Mr. Steele highlighted Paul’s college achievements, including playing basketball for Syracuse University and earning ACC academic honors in 2019 and 2020.

Steele argued Paul was accustomed to hard work and that the five to ten occasions involving drugs were a small fraction of his time as Combs’ assistant.

Paul agreed, stating he knew the job would be intense and demanding, adding, “I was raised to work hard. That’s my make-up.”

He testified he never saw “Jane” acting unwilling during “wild king nights,” but prosecutors argued his testimony supports a pattern of coercive and exploitative behavior by Combs.

Paul revealed Combs’ mantra for his assistants: “Mr. Combs doesn’t take no for an answer.” He said Combs wanted them to handle everything without needing to ask for permission or guidance, emphasizing speed and secrecy.

Paul was the sixth former assistant to testify about Combs’ alleged misconduct. His testimony provided jurors with a glimpse into Combs’ high-pressure inner circle, marked by nonstop work, drug use, and sexual encounters arranged behind closed doors.

Despite his loyalty, Paul admitted he knew something was wrong. He described the environment as intense saying, “Working for Mr. Combs was intense. There’s no way around it.”

Paul admitted he was aware something criminal was happening during the “wild king nights.”

Paul told the court his feelings toward Combs were “complicated.”
