After Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura’s lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs became public on November 16, 2023, Jane testified that her relationship with Mr. Combs deteriorated significantly.

She described herself as an “emotional wreck” and said the revelations surrounding Cassie’s allegations caused profound distress.

According to Jane, arguments between her and Mr. Combs became more frequent during phone calls. She testified that she would often end up in tears while Mr. Combs would abruptly leave the conversations.

Jane said she felt resentful and hurt after learning that Mr. Combs had engaged in “hotel nights,” also referred to as “freak-offs,” with other women. She testified that Cassie was a significant romantic figure in Mr. Combs’ life, describing her as his “great love.”

Jane claimed that when they were high together, Mr. Combs would write letters to Cassie. She testified that she did not realize the extent of Mr. Combs’ relationship with Cassie until the lawsuit was made public. She discovered Cassie had allegedly experienced situations similar to her own.

Jane characterized the period following the lawsuit as an emotionally intense time filled with depression and resentment.

According to Jane, it became increasingly difficult for them to support one another. She said they officially broke up at the end of October 2023, yet they continued communicating despite the split.

Jane described how, after Cassie’s lawsuit, Mr. Combs faced intense public scrutiny. She testified that both she and Mr. Combs were emotionally overwhelmed by the situation. During cross-examination, defense attorney Ms. Geragos suggested that Mr. Combs may not have been aware of the depth of Jane’s feelings. When instructed by the court to answer only “yes” or “no,” Jane replied, “Right,” but the judge informed her that she would have an opportunity to clarify during redirect.

Jane recalled Mr. Combs telling her that he did not want her to feel hurt or upset. She shared excerpts from notes and text messages exchanged with him, including messages where she wrote, “I tolerated and dimmed myself for you, Puff,” and, “I lifted you up anytime you needed me.” Mr. Combs responded, “Never discredit you.”

Ms. Geragos reviewed numerous text messages exchanged between Jane and Mr. Combs. Jane also testified about a Las Vegas trip involving a rapper who was a close friend of Mr. Combs. She stated that the rapper flirted with her and told her, “You’re beautiful and I’ve always wanted to have sex with you.” Jane also testified that the rapper and his wife inquired if she knew others who participated in their “lifestyle.”

Jane testified that between 2021 and the period after Cassie’s lawsuit went public, Mr. Combs’ characterization of their relationship changed. Before the lawsuit, he described himself as single and polyamorous and did not publicly define their relationship.

Jane said this hurt her deeply because she viewed him as her partner and lover, especially while he was publicly involved with another woman, Caresha.

According to Jane, Mr. Combs later acknowledged they were in a relationship and began referring to her as his girlfriend, showing more affection and engaging with her more seriously.

Jane described feeling shocked upon viewing a video allegedly depicting Mr. Combs assaulting Cassie. She testified that Mr. Combs had never physically assaulted her, nor had she seen him physically harm anyone else. After seeing the video, friends urged her to end the relationship, but Jane said she still wanted to support Mr. Combs.

Ms. Geragos questioned Jane about an incident on June 18, 2024, when Jane allegedly slammed Mr. Combs’ head onto a counter during an argument.

Jane also testified that, during discussions about the Las Vegas trip, Mr. Combs instructed her to take a pill and cover her injuries with her hair because Antione was coming over. Jane claimed Mr. Combs was upset she had attended another man’s “freak-off.”

Jane read text messages she received from Mr. Combs, including, “I still have love for you. You’re doing too much running around,” and, “I just want to be friends. I’m so, so sorry for hurting you.” Mr. Combs’ messages also included promises of traveling together as friends to destinations like Greece and Italy, with the goal of “making this right.”
