During cross-examination, Jane read text messages exchanged with Sean “Diddy” Combs on January 9, which showed they had celebrated an “amazing New Year’s.” But soon after, Combs talked to Jane about another woman he liked and took that woman on vacation.

Defense attorney Ms. Geragos pressed Jane on the timeline, pointing out how around Jane’s own birthday, Combs took her out on dates. Yet just days later, he traveled with Caresha for her birthday.

Jane said she was devastated when she saw on social media that Caresha wore a love necklace identical to the love bracelet Combs had given Jane. “I was furious,” she testified.

Before Combs’ trip with Caresha, Jane had planned a surprise: she arranged for two entertainers for a hotel night and alerted Combs’ assistant, KK. But after seeing the necklace post, she decided to cancel the surprise.

Jane texted Combs, threatening not to go through with the hotel night. She also manipulated the situation, making him come home from his trip a day early.

In February 2022, Jane asked Combs if he would pay for her birthday party with friends and buy her outfits. Combs sent her $15,000.

The next year, for her birthday in February 2023, Jane and Combs stayed at the Nobu Hotel and dined at the Nobu restaurant. She hoped for a more romantic experience and texted Combs: “Is Nobu the only dinner option? Maybe we could try Papi Steak or Carbone?”

During that dinner, Combs arranged for his personal photographer to capture photos of them together. Jane texted him later: “I loved and appreciated every detail you put into my birthday, baby.”

However, when Jane later saw that Combs took Caresha on a beautiful trip to Turks and Caicos, she texted him expressing her hurt: “On my birthday there was a hotel night with three different entertainers. You knew how tired I was, but I kept a good attitude. I came home to see you on a trip I’d been dying for.”

Ms. Geragos challenged Jane: “It wasn’t until you saw him on a trip with Caresha in Turks that you told him you didn’t want to do all that, right?”

Jane answered emotionally: “After I was made to have sex with three guys on my birthday, it was deeply hurtful. 

Seeing him with another woman on a beautiful vacation, all happy, while I was alone recovering from something I didn’t want to do. Not because of his relationship, but because of how it made me feel after enduring that.”

Jane testified she asked Combs for condoms for the entertainers that night. Combs resisted but eventually gave them condoms.

She also wrote in her notes app: “Despite enduring these nights, I can block them out and just focus on the love I have for Sean.”

Jane told the court that whenever she confronted Combs about how he used her before his trips, he would break up with her. 

“He’d say we were breaking up, but a week later he’d be persistent, blowing up my phone, sending people to find me. Then I’d be right back in love, and the cycle repeated,” she testified.

On March 2, 2023, Combs texted Jane saying: “I’m going to end it like this. I’m very sorry. I didn’t know I was going to lose one of my closest friends because of a stupid lie. Everyone makes mistakes. I tried my best to reach you but can’t. 

Sorry I got mad yesterday and said ‘FU’ and called you a b***. I was very upset. I wish you well. I’m sincerely sorry. I wish I would’ve told the truth. I deserve this love, right?”*

Jane responded with a heart emoji and texted: “What we have is special.”

Combs replied: “I can’t wait to see you.”

Jane answered: “I can’t wait to see you too, my darling.”

The two began planning a trip to Turks and Caicos. Ms. Geragos said Combs planned to spend $100,000 on the trip but ended up spending $55,000. Jane testified she did not know the exact amount.

Under Combs’ encouragement, Jane texted Kabral, an entertainer, asking if he would be available to come to Turks.

Jane was happy when Combs gifted her a diamond bracelet. But when Paul, one of the entertainers, arrived at the villa, she threw the bracelet.

 Jane testified: “I agreed because I knew this made him happy. I told Paul I had allowed Mr. Combs too much, and that was my fault.”

Jane broke down crying multiple times during her testimony, describing the emotional turmoil of feeling loved and used, often within the same moments.
