During cross-examination, Jane gave a candid account of how her deep affection for Sean “Diddy” Combs blurred her judgment, leading her into a lifestyle she said was filled with emotional manipulation and sexual exploitation. She admitted still loving Combs but described how the relationship’s dynamics eroded her personal boundaries.

Jane testified she “resented the way he went about introducing me to this lifestyle,” saying it was built on “a lot of emotional manipulation and pressure.”

She explained, “I was hooked from the beginning. I fell in love with somebody I didn’t understand the terms and conditions of what our relationship would be like.”

Once emotionally invested, Jane said it became “a blur of love and affection mixed with pressure to perform the things my lover desired.” She emphasized, “I wanted to fulfill my duties as a good girlfriend and partner.”

Defense attorney Ms. Geragos repeatedly interrupted Jane as she tried to elaborate on her feelings.

The judge interjected, reminding Geragos, “If you’re not getting a responsive answer, you can make an application to the court, but otherwise the witness should be permitted to complete her answers.”

When asked directly, Jane confirmed she still loves Combs. “I love taking care of him. He’s my baby. I love rubbing his feet,” she told the court.

Jane said she didn’t want Combs to feel judged during the hotel nights, explaining, “I put blinders on and went along with what he was telling me to do.” She testified that she thought these encounters were “our special time” and believed he was only engaging in this behavior with her.

Jane also described how what she craved most were the loving words Combs shared during those nights. “As time went on, it was very conflicting for me internally,” she said. “I broke all of my own boundaries just to make him feel extremely loved.”

The cross-examination revealed Combs’ preference for role-playing scenarios, including watching Jane act as if she were cheating on him with entertainers he arranged.

Jane said, “Mr. Combs enjoyed fantasy dirty talk and these cheating scenarios.”

Jane described her initial attraction to Combs as magnetic. “When I first met him, he was confident, strong, boisterous, and very sure of himself. He just beamed,” she recalled.

“He was a bright light, unique and different, like no one I’d ever met.” She testified that Combs’ “big energy, motivational speeches, and leadership skills” inspired her. “He pushed me to be my best,” she added.

Jane said she was much shyer at the start of their relationship, but Combs helped her come out of her shell. “He saw the good in me, and I appreciated that,” she said.

Jane recounted how Combs uplifted her, adding, “He was strong and unafraid, and he saw me for who I was. He would uplift me.” She also described positive aspects of their relationship, including discussions on life and spirituality.

“He gave me a different perspective on life and introduced me to gospel music. We had really insightful conversations on various topics. He had a good perspective on a lot of things,” she testified.

Financially, Jane shared that Combs invested $20,000 into her dress and swimwear businesses during a period when she was able to focus on her career.

Before meeting Combs, she explained she could earn about $50,000 by booking two brand campaigns, with potential to make more if she committed to additional brands. Her child support was minimal at the time around $4,700 per month.

Defense attorney Geragos pressed Jane on her decision to rent an expensive home in April 2023. Jane testified on cross that the purpose was to shift their “hotel nights” from hotels to a private residence.

She admitted she chose a luxury home “up to Mr. Combs’ taste level.”

This statement conflicted with her direct examination testimony, where she said she wanted the house to feel more equal in their relationship.

The defense produced text messages from December 14, 2021, in which Combs promised Jane “no hotel nights for the rest of the year.”

Jane responded skeptically with “lol” and Mr. Combs joked about making her beg for “debauchery.” She also texted about locking themselves in a room together to watch their videos, saying she knew those videos would make Combs happy.

Throughout the cross-examination, Jane maintained that despite the dark turns in their relationship, she deeply loved Combs and wanted to be what he needed. “If I could be his escape, I would be,” she said. But she admitted that the combination of affection, pressure, and blurred lines ultimately left her struggling to separate love from coercion.
