Makeup Artist Testifies to Witnessing Cassie Injured After Alleged Altercation with Sean Combs
Week 2 May 22 Testimony – Federal Sex Trafficking and Racketeering Trial
Makeup artist Mylah Morales took the stand this week to testify about her years working closely with both Sean “Diddy” Combs and singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura. Morales provided grooming and light makeup services for Combs from approximately 2000 to 2005, before working more regularly with Cassie.
She first met Cassie when the singer was just 16 years old during a photo shoot and later became her regular makeup artist after Cassie signed with Bad Boy Records in 2007.
Morales continued working with Cassie from 2007 to 2018, doing her makeup for music videos, photo shoots, and editorials.
“We were close,” Morales testified. “She was like a little sister to me.”
Morales recounted a disturbing incident in 2010 during Grammy week, when she witnessed the aftermath of an alleged violent altercation between Combs and Cassie. The two were staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Morales said she was sleeping on the couch in Cassie’s suite after a late-night industry event hosted by Prince.
“I woke up to a bit of a commotion,” she said. “Cassie walked in and went straight to the bedroom. Then Mr. Combs came in, angry, asking, ‘Where is she?’ He stormed into the bedroom and slammed the door behind him.”
Morales testified that she heard yelling and screaming coming from the room. Moments later, Combs emerged, stomping out of the suite before leaving the hotel entirely.
When Cassie reappeared, Morales said, she was visibly injured, her eye swollen, her lip busted, and knots on her head. Cassie was visibly shaken, crying, and distressed.
“I packed her things up immediately,” Morales testified. “We wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. I took her to my house. I had a friend who is an MD come to check her out.”
The physician examined Cassie’s ribs and abdomen and recommended she go to the emergency room. Cassie reportedly refused medical treatment but stayed at Morales’s home for several days to recover.
Morales also disclosed that she has spoken to the media about the incident and her relationship with Cassie. She said she had participated in interviews with eight media outlets, discussing Cassie’s career and her relationship with Combs.
Cross-Examination by Defense Attorney Ms. Estevao
During cross-examination, Combs’ attorney Ms. Estevao questioned Morales about her public interviews and social media activity.
Morales acknowledged that she had posted photos of Cassie’s makeup on her personal Instagram account, explaining it was a common way for her to showcase her professional artistry.
When asked about her media involvement, Morales admitted to participating in a documentary where she discussed her time working with Cassie. She also confirmed she was compensated with therapy services for her contribution to that project.
Despite the defense’s attempt to cast doubt on her motives, Morales maintained that her testimony was based on her personal experience and concern for Cassie’s well-being.
Testimony read from Official Court Transcripts on Down the Rabbit Hole News on YouTube.
